Supporting Our Service Members and Their Families

horizontal rule

Welcome!  We're glad you came to visit and hope you are interested in finding out how you can support our military who are making so many sacrifices for our nation.

UPDATES:

We are still collecting unwanted or treat leftovers from Halloween to use for our winter holiday campaign of holiday gift bags for the troops.  They can be dropped off at any of our collection sites or please call for large pick-ups.

Holiday Giving & Packing

We have once again partnered with Moe's Southwest Grill and will be collecting holiday gifts for our troops to be shipped with care packages in early December.  Eleven Moe's Southwest Grill locations in addition to our regular partner sites will be collecting donations for our troops.  We are supporting over 30 camps in Iraq and Afghanistan and are asking for as much support from the public as possible this holiday season.

We have also scheduled two parties where the public is invited to bring their donations for our bulk care packages for the troops.  You are invited to stay and help us pack our treat stockings/bags, and wrap gifts for our beloved service members.  What better way to actually feel like you contributed?

The schedule for these parties is:

- Saturday Dec. 5th - 9:00am - 11:00am

Moe's South West Grill - Leesburg

667 Potomac Station Dr, Leesburg, VA 20176

-Saturday, Dec. 12th - 9:00am - 11:00am

   Moe's South West Grill - Chantilly/Westfield's

5005 Westone Plaza, Suite A, Chantilly, VA  20151

Order gifts to support our troops online!

We have partnered with UltimateRegistry.com and created a registry where you are able to support our troops by ordering items to donate from our wish list.  These items will be shipped to another new partner, JK Moving and Storage, who has graciously offered to provide receiving and warehouse space for us.  We will then pick up these items and package and ship or deliver them to our deserving troops abroad or at the military hospitals. We will be adding items to our "Wish List" all the time so keep on checking it.  To order from the wish list please click on the following icon/link:

Make donations to help with postage costs or just to help us make purchases for the troops.

Secure online donations through PayPal.

Other programs and fundraising opportunities:

Our organization is now linked with GoodSearch.com on the internet.  Please consider using GoodSearch (powered by Yahoo) for your web browsing, and earn money for our organization at the same time.  This will NOT give you unwanted spam or cookies.  In addition, GoodShop.com which is part of GoodSearch, is the new online marketplace that donates a percentage of your online purchase to the charity or school of your choice, (Operation Pinecone we hope!). You can choose from hundreds of popular online merchants including Amazon.com.  Please check the following link for information on how to download the toolbar and start earning money for us: http://www.goodsearch.com/toolbars.aspx

MUSICAL TRIBUTE and Fundraiser

(Check out the recent winners on their website!)

Click on the following to hear and view a powerful video to remind us of the sacrifices our men and women are making for us everyday. If you would like to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, support organizations who are supporting our service members, (including Operation Pinecone) and at the same time enter to win an autographed guitar from some of the most famous musicians in our country, please consider contributing to Our Sacrifice.

Ongoing Programs:

Notes of Support - Please continue to send notes, cards, posters, drawings of support through our organization and we will gladly forward them along with our shipments and deliveries.  We have had some wonderful photos, notes, posters and drawings from individuals, Church Organizations, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Daisies, Brownies and Senior Girl Scouts that were and continue to be thoroughly enjoyed by the troops in Iraq (see photos) and Afghanistan and other deployment areas as well as at the military hospitals we support.

Sewing For The Wounded - Some of us also are participants of the Sew Much Comfort program.  We have received  very nice thank you letters from the Chaplain of the Combat Support Hospital in Baghdad  and from the Marine Liaison office at Bethesda National Naval Hospital for our shipments and deliveries  of adaptive T-shirts, shorts and boxers for the wounded. If you have sewing capabilities, there is a need for people to help alter clothing to create “adaptive clothing” for service members who have lost limbs, had surgeries that require appliances to be worn temporarily, or have special needs due to their injuries or surgeries.  We can arrange to coordinate with you if you are interested in helping.  You may go to the following link to find out more about sewing needs: http://www.sewmuchcomfort.org/   If you have questions about this program or are interested in getting involved in any way, please e-mail or call Sew Much Comfort or us.
